Job Position: Marketing and Social Media Officer

 

Reports to: General Manager

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Management of the marketing of Kids In Need of Direction, its public relations strategy, fundraising efforts and the delivery of social media campaigns ensuring organizational values, ambitions and goals are achieved. This is a central role responsible for developing and implementing a marketing strategy, fundraising plan and related communications including use of social media to support campaigns. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organization skills to be able to manage numerous projects with competing deadlines. A strong self-starter with creativity and imagination will thrive in this position.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

MARKETING:

  • To create a marketing strategy and implementation plan, working with the General Manager in identifying future opportunities for brand enhancement

  • To deliver marketing campaigns for all business areas in partnership with the programme leads to ensure relevant coordination across the organization and in line with the Strategic Plan.

  • Management of the marketing budget including seeking opportunities for increased external support

  • To work with colleagues to develop marketing collateral, including for recruitment and tendering opportunities and brand awareness.

  • To take responsibility for external PR & Marketing events and maximizing opportunities for communications activity

  • To monitor member and partner satisfaction through market research and feedback and identify actions and campaigns to enhance wherever possible

  •  To act as the custodian for the KIND Brand

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS:

  • To identify press opportunities both internally (programmes) and externally (policy & industry/sectoral)

  • To keep a diary/calendar of press communications activity

  • To develop messages and disseminate proactively regarding KIND initiatives

 

SOCIAL MEDIA:

  • To be responsible for all social media activity (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram LinkedIn and YouTube) and managing social media accounts

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media marketing plan

  • Develop and promote video clips

  • Develop and implement website and social media campaigns

  • Enhance social media outlets and opportunities to maintain communication and build a fan base

  • Develop new partnerships to increase traffic

  • Plan & implement monthly social media calendar

  • Track and analyze website and social media performance

  • Management and development of website content

  • To work with Programme Leads and partners to support campaigns and initiatives

  • Seek opportunities to improve the use of social media and develop 'followers'

 

FUNDRAISING AND DONOR RELATIONS:

  • Develop and implement a two-year, overarching, comprehensive fundraising plan in collaboration with the General and in consultation with ‘the Board’ that includes strategies for achieving a range of public and private sector revenue-raising efforts with short, medium and long-term goals and targets

  • Ensure that all of KIND’s public and private sector fundraising efforts are achieved within budgets approved by ‘the Board’

  • Maintain and service existing corporate partners, sponsors, local business supporters, and loyal Sponsor a Child to Learn (SACTL) sponsors; identify, research, attract, and secure new sponsors and partners and SACTL sponsors; develop and implement philanthropic-giving programs and campaigns; and ensure that all partnership and sponsorship-building efforts encourage long-term commitment, and reflect the KIND brand and its unique value proposition in a positive and effective manner

  • Prepare proposals to philanthropic trusts and foundations and potential business partners or sponsors in consultation and collaboration with the General Manager and assist in the preparation of funding applications

  • Be the primary point of contact for all stakeholders connected with KIND’s fundraising efforts

  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date fundraising contact databases, including a record of potential fundraising leads, and keep accurate records of meetings

  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of all fundraising-related documentation including proposals, contracts, activation plans, entertainment, promotional events and launches and associated logistics, post-event ‘thank-you’ and supporter’s awards, and outcome reports

  • Prepare reports on the outcomes of all fundraising efforts, and provide updates on progress/status and cost-benefit analyses – including for ‘the Board’, and as required by the General Manager.

Minimum Experience and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of marketing & social media experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Analytics, Content Management, Programs and Email

  • Marketing Software
